After sending over a contact form, I'll get back to you as soon as possible. You'll then secure your session with a contract and payment, which officially reserves your date. Since I only take one proposal per time slot, this is the step that locks everything in so you can stop stressing about availability and start getting excited.

The Lake Tahoe
Proposal Experience

Once you're booked, I'll send over my Proposal Planning Guide, packed with everything you need to pull off a flawless surprise proposal in Lake Tahoe: private location recommendations, timing and lighting tips, outfit guidance, cover story ideas, and more. Then we'll hop on a planning call together to go over every detail and build a strategy that's specific to you, your partner, and the moment you're envisioning. By the time we hang up, you'll feel completely prepared and confident.

On the day, I'll already be in place when you arrive, blending in so the surprise stays completely intact. You drop to one knee, ask those four words, and I capture every second of it: the reaction, the tears, the joy, all of it. After the proposal we'll spend time together for your first photos as a newly engaged couple while you're still riding that high. Then go celebrate, you earned it.

There’s something extraordinary about a proposal, it’s one of the only times in life when raw emotion, surprise, and deep love all collide in one beautiful heartbeat. While photos capture the joy and emotion in still frames, a proposal video lets you relive the entire experience...the laughter, the quiver in your voice, the moment your partner realizes what’s happening.

Adding video to your proposal isn’t just about documenting it. It’s about remembering how it felt.

This isn’t a polished production or a staged scene. It’s genuine, emotional, and intimate. Whether it’s a quiet moment in the forest, a sweeping view over Lake Tahoe, or the glow of golden hour on the beach, the video preserves the story in real time. You’ll be able to hear the words, the reactions, the joy, everything that made the moment uniquely yours.

It’s a keepsake you can watch on anniversaries, share with family and friends, or simply hold close as a reminder of where your forever began.

For couples who want the full experience, who want to remember not just how it looked, but how it sounded and what it felt like, proposal videography is a powerful way to hold on to the magic.

Because this moment only happens once.
Let’s tell the story in every way it deserves.

Proposal resources to plan your Tahoe Proposal

No matter how you plan to propose, there are three main tips I'm giving to make your proposal unforgettable!

The pros and cons of including family or friends in your proposal. And if you are including them, how to make it happen.

The first step to proposing is to pick out the ring to propose with! In this guide, I'll give you 8 tips on how to accomplish it!

Five of my favorite locations around Lake Tahoe for a gorgeous proposal!

Frequently Asked Questions

How many proposals have you photographed?

Hundreds of proposals around Lake Tahoe. And that's not just a number, it's the thing that actually sets working with me apart from hiring a general photographer who's done a handful. I've seen and handled just about every scenario you can imagine: weather changes, nervous proposers, partners who almost turned around at the wrong moment, timing that had to shift on the fly. At this point, I know how to read a situation and adapt without missing the moment. The one thing I haven't encountered yet? A "no." And I plan to keep that streak going.

Do I have to choose a location before booking?

Nope. You can have a general idea or no idea at all. Location is something we figure out together on the planning call, after you're booked and I've sent you the Planning Guide. I keep my best locations private and only share them with booked clients to protect the experience for everyone.

How does the surprise actually stay a surprise? Won't my partner notice a photographer?

This is honestly one of my favorite things about Lake Tahoe proposal photography to explain, but I keep the method close to the chest because it only works when your partner hasn't read about it! What I will say is that in all my years of doing this, nearly every single partner is genuinely surprised, not just by the proposal but by the fact it was being photographed at all. We go over the full plan together on the planning call so you'll feel completely confident going in.

What's included in your Lake Tahoe proposal photography packages?

Every package, regardless of tier, includes three things: my Proposal Planning Guide, a planning call where we map out every detail together, and your online gallery of fully edited, high-resolution, watermark-free images delivered about two weeks after the proposal. The packages differ in session length and whether a video reel is included. Send an inquiry for pricing.

Can I bring my dog?

I love dogs at proposals. A couple of things help: tire them out a bit beforehand, bring treats, and make sure they're well-behaved enough that they won't steal the moment (it happens). Some locations are better for dogs than others, and we'll figure that out together on the call.

How far in advance should I book a Lake Tahoe proposal photographer?

As soon as you have a date in mind. Popular dates, especially summer weekends, fall, and the holidays, fill up fast. I can only take one proposal per time slot, so the sooner you lock it in the better. A few weeks out is possible if I have availability, but a few months ahead is ideal.

Do you travel outside of Lake Tahoe for proposal photography?

Yes! My home base is the Lake Tahoe region but I'm available to travel anywhere for the right proposal. Travel fees apply depending on location, just reach out and we'll figure out the details together.

How do I officially book?

Once you've chosen your package, I'll send over a contract and payment details. Signing and completing payment is what officially reserves your date. After that, I'll send over my Proposal Planning Guide and we'll get a planning call on the calendar to start mapping out your Lake Tahoe proposal.

What should we wear?

Coordinate but don't match. Soft neutrals and muted tones photograph beautifully, as do deep jewel tones like emerald, navy, and burgundy in cooler months. Avoid anything bright or neon. Long flowy dresses are always a great choice. For guys: a blazer or well-fitted suit, long pants, closed-toe leather shoes. In winter, real coats and boots over heels. I send detailed outfit guidance in the Planning Guide and am always happy to weigh in if you want a second opinion before the day.

Can I include family or friends?

Yes, and it's a really special touch when it's done right. The key is booking a full one-hour session so there's enough time to do it well. The sequence I always use: proposal first (just the two of you), then couple portraits, then the group joins. It keeps the moment intimate and still gives everyone plenty of time together. We'll talk through the logistics on the planning call.

Alyssa was an absolute wonder to work with! She took what began to feel like a stressful and overwhelming romantic moment to coordinate, and easily delivered with absolute attention to detail. In addition to that, Alyssa was an amazing photographer who captured precious moments for us. There’s truly no one better to work with especially when it comes to a Tahoe proposal/wedding!
