Chart House, Lake Tahoe Wedding
Melody and Matt decided to have a destination wedding in the gorgeous Lake Tahoe, at the Chart House. Their wedding guest list was small, but they still wanted all of the important aspects of the day documented.
When couples decide to elope or have a small wedding, they think that wedding photography isn’t as crucial for the little details of the day. Melody still wanted everything documented as a typical wedding day, from the details, putting on her dress, all the way to cutting the cake. The reality of a small wedding is that you get a more relaxed day and a ton of free time with photos!
Getting Ready in Incline Village
Starting the day at her getting a ready condo, it had the BEST light in the bedroom, a ton of clean white light. This made it incredibly easy to document all her details (Look at her invites; they are seriously the most unique ones I’ve seen). Another special detail of the day was her bracelet was made by her brother as a gift because he was unable to attend.
Melody and Matt decided on a first look before the ceremony which gave us a ton of time to drive around for photos of just the two of them. Originally we were going to do pictures on the beach (because who doesn’t want the lake in their photos in Tahoe) but because of a ton of typical Tahoe road construction and the heavy smoke from the California fires, we decided with plan b. But honestly, the forest is just as beautiful.
Wedding at the Chart House
The ceremony was filled with their closest friends and family with a chair dedicated and honoring Melody’s mother who passed away. It was a short but sweet ceremony and they said their “I do’s” right as the sun went down behind the mountains.
