My Five Favorite Essential Oils

My five favorite Essential Oils

#fridayfive

Essential oils are things I use daily. I don’t know everything about them like the reps, but I do know a basic amount of information. My go-to essential oil brand is Doterra; because that’s brand that I started out with. I do have a lot of friends that use Young Living, and they love that brand as well. Either way, go with a bigger brand because the ones that you can buy for a fraction of the price at stores like Tj-Maxx are cheap for a reason, they can be full of.. shit. This blog post isn’t about all the specifics on oil grades, but I recommend to do some research if you haven’t.

Anyways, these are my top 5 favorite essential oils and what I use them for!

  • Peppermint

This works miracles for headaches. I suffer from a lot of headaches and migraines, so I always have this stuff on hand. I always have this either in my purse or car. I put some (more like coat myself in it) on my forehead, the back of my neck and temples. Picture the character Molly in the movie Superstar sniffing her hands, so that’s me with peppermint.

  • Past tense

Another oil that works wonders for migraines. This oil is a doTERRA specific, and it comes in a roller. I roll it on the same spots as peppermint but mostly on the back of my neck and also my shoulders. It can really help if my migraine is just starting out, and sometimes it can it not come on fully.

  • Lavender

Lavender oil is so relaxing. I love to put a few drops in lotion to rub on the bottom of my feet and put in my diffuser at night. Lavender oil is also great to put in a bath for ultimate relaxation!

  • Cedarwood

Cedarwood and Lavender oil together in a diffuser is my favorite combination at night. I can go to sleep within minutes if this is on!

  • Deep blue

Deep blue is the essential oil of tiger balm. It can help relax muscles that are sore or tight. I also use it for cramps!

  • OnGuard

OnGuard is a doTERRA specific oil. It is a blend of wild orange, clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary. So it has a citrus woodsy smell. There are a gazillion different ways of using this oil; you can use it topically, aromatically, and internally. It can help maintain a healthy immune system, be used as a non-toxic cleaner (I do!), and purify the air.
