Happy fall y’all!
Fall is a photographer’s favorite season! There is really something special about the fall air and light. And photographing fall family photos, or engagement sessions in the fall… it is literally just amazing. So besides photographing in the fall, I’ve listed five of my favorite things to do
1. Visit Hope Valley
Hope Valley in the fall is one of my favorite places. It is a secluded area outside of Tahoe that is a short drive to get to, and there are aspen groves everywhere you look. I love to walk into the grove and take lots of photos (obviously). On the way out, it is a must to stop at Sorenson’s resort and have a berry pie with vanilla ice cream.
2. Pumpkin Spice Chai lattes
I am not a coffee drinker, so a PSC is more my jam. Also, a caramel apple cider from Starbucks, it is absolutely delicious. It is like drinking fall from a cup.
3. Wearing cute fall outfits
A good amount of my wardrobe is cute fall outfits. Wearing mustard yellow and olive green together is probably one of my favorite color combinations. Another favorite fall color to wear is maroon. Pair those colors with skinny jeans and booties, and you have yourself a perfect fall outfit.
4. Visit Taylor Creek
Another Tahoe favorite thing to do in the fall is to visit Taylor creek because there are the kokanee salmon. In elementary school, we use to have field trips to watch them. If you haven’t seen them before, it is a sight to behold. The fish are bright red and green (and pretty ugly faces in my opinion), and they swim the furthest upstream they can to lay their eggs. If you get lucky, you’ll see bears come into the river for a snack.
5. Decorate the house with fall decor
Christmas is my first favorite reason to decorate the house, but fall is definitely a runner up. It’s basically the prep. I love getting orange and white pumpkins from Trader Joes to place in front of my door.
